Kothon connects trusted HIRAM instances for focused remote text work: analysis, summaries, drafting, and code generation. Results return with model attribution. Its shared-session workspace also lets invited accounts on one instance suggest, draft, and contribute with clear permissions.
Remote text work does not grant a peer access to your private memory or local tools. Shared sessions are currently local to one HIRAM instance.

Local-first means HIRAM’s runtime and workspace can live on your computer. A configured local model can handle model work locally. Cloud models, web research, connected services, and remote peers need their respective network connections. Where your prompts go depends on the providers and peers you choose.
HIRAM is being prepared for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Public installers and final system requirements are still pending. The current source setup uses Python 3.12 or 3.13, uv, Node.js 22, and a local or cloud model provider. Docker is not required for ordinary chat, research, or content work. It is used when running and testing code or shell commands in an isolated environment. Local model memory and storage needs depend on the model you choose.
The public release is still in preparation. This page will carry the verified installer, release notes, and final setup instructions when they are ready. There is no announced release date yet.
The Phoenicians’ success connected skilled craftsmanship, maritime enterprise, and the exchange of ideas. HIRAM draws inspiration from that spirit. The harbor is our visual metaphor for Kothon: independent places connected through purposeful exchange.
